Tanat Caravan Park is a friendly family run holiday park situated on the English/Welsh border in between the two market towns of Oswestry and Welshpool. The park has been in the Hall family for over 45 years with Ian and Cheryl Hall now running the park with their two children.
Situated just off the A483, the holiday park is in an ideal location for travelling from the Midlands, Liverpool and Manchester with some holiday home owners coming from further afield.
Surrounded by unspoilt countryside the park offers peace and tranquillity with the River Tanat running alongside offering excellent fishing. The River Tanat is a good fishing river where barbell, trout and grayling amongst others can be found. An otter shows its appearance occasionally and the Salmon run up stream in the autumn with a weir close by where caravan owners can watch them leap!!
The park prides itself on its relaxed atmosphere which itself rewards us with people coming back every year and with many caravan owners being on the park for over 40 years. We have a friendly community of people on our park who make all holidaymakers welcome.
Countryside walks are aplenty with the country lanes, Montgomeryshire Canal and the Offa’s dyke within easy distance.
Our main attraction is our location and the peace and quiet it offers. We have no club on site. All caravan owners make their own entertainment whether its walking, fishing or having a bbq by the side of their caravan. They all have one thing in common which is to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Young families can feel at ease with their small children knowing that they can ride on their bikes around the park as no major roads are in the area. The park is located at the end of Carreghofa Lane with no traffic coming through the park. Only caravan owners have access to the park. For added security there is a barrier system at the entrance of the park and the owners of Tanat Caravan Park live on site permanently. There is also a children’s play area and open areas for little ones to run around.
Dogs are welcome on the park and can enjoy the miles of walks on the park and the surrounding areas. The Montgomeryshire canal is within ½ mile which can take you as far as Welshpool and beyond. The famous Offa’s Dyke path is located in the village of Llanymynech for the keen walker.
The park has over 130 spacious pitches which are connected to all services with parking next to each caravan. Mains electric, private water supply, electric is metered (which is read twice yearly) and gas is bottled. Budget gas bottles can be bought on site. All pitches on the 18 acre site are spaciously laid out with views of the countryside.
Llanymynech village, which is approximately 1 mile away from the park, offers a local shop, cafe, takeaway restaurants and local public houses which supply good food. Oswestry and Welshpool are both approximately 9 miles away which being market towns have the local Market on a Wednesday in Oswestry and Monday in Welshpool. Both towns have supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s and a variety of shops for everyone. Further afield are Shrewsbury and Chester.
THE PARK IS OPEN FROM 1st MARCH TO THE 30th NOVEMBER
